Many health checks deliver results without context. Ours are different. Every Wellwoman assessment concludes with a full clinical report written by the assessing clinician - interpreting each finding in the context of your personal and family history, and producing a specific, evidence-based management plan.

Our assessments are designed around four principles:

  • Bespoke clinical assessment - no two assessments are identical
  • Full interpretation of every result, not just flagged abnormals
  • Personalised guidance - specific to your life stage and risk profile
  • Onward specialist referral letters where indicated

The result is not just a record of your health today. It is a clinical foundation - a documented baseline that your clinician can build on year on year, tracking trends and identifying changes before they become problems.

Most Serious Conditions
Develop Without Warning

The most significant health risks facing men - cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, early-stage cancers, hypertension - rarely announce themselves. By the time symptoms appear, the opportunity for early, effective management has often passed. Health screening changes that calculus entirely.

Hessington Health has been delivering health screening services for over 20 years. Over those two decades, their clinicians have identified cancers in patients who presented with no symptoms at all - many of whom went on to receive curative treatment as a direct result. Every year, they identify hundreds of individuals who are borderline diabetic, living with undetected hypertension, or carrying cholesterol levels that place them at significant cardiovascular risk.

Through the Bloom Health partnership, that same clinical standard is now available in Milton Keynes - without referral, without a waiting list, and with a report that gives you genuine, actionable insight into your health.

Conditions Routinely Identified
Through Screening

The following represent some of the conditions our assessments are designed to screen for. This list is indicative and not exhaustive - the assessment is tailored to each individual.

Cardiovascular Disease
Cardiovascular DiseaseThe leading cause of death in women - yet frequently underestimated. Our assessments include ECG, full cardiovascular examination and a complete lipid panel, providing a thorough picture of cardiac risk.
Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 DiabetesEvery assessment includes a diabetes screen. Borderline and pre-diabetic states are identified before the condition becomes established and harder to manage.
Prostate Disease
Prostate DiseasePSA (prostate-specific antigen) measurement and physical prostate examination are included in all Wellman tiers, providing a comprehensive baseline for monitoring.
Bowel Cancer
Bowel CancerThe QFIT (quantitative faecal immunochemical test) bowel cancer screen is included across all tiers - a simple, non-invasive test with significant early detection value.
Thyroid Dysfunction
Thyroid DysfunctionBoth underactive and overactive thyroid conditions are included in the blood panel - conditions that affect energy, weight and cardiovascular health and are frequently undiagnosed.
Ischaemic Heart Disease
Ischaemic Heart DiseaseIncluded in our Advanced Heart Wellman tier, the CT Coronary Angiogram provides the gold-standard assessment of coronary artery condition and obstruction - identifying those at genuine cardiac risk.

Tier 2 - Advanced 40+Advanced Wellman Health Screening

Designed for men over 40, this tier expands the blood panel to 61 components by adding a full male hormone profile - testosterone, sex hormone binding globulin and androgen index — alongside Vitamin D and Lipoprotein A. These markers become increasingly important as men age and are frequently the source of unexplained fatigue, mood changes and cardiovascular risk.

Why These Markers Matter
check
Low testosterone affects energy, libido, mood and muscle mass - and is underdiagnosed in men over 40
check
SHBG and androgen index provide a complete hormonal picture beyond a single testosterone reading
check
Vitamin D deficiency affects bone health, immune function and cardiovascular risk
check
Elevated Lipoprotein A is a significant independent cardiovascular risk factor, distinct from standard cholesterol

Tier 3 - Advanced HeartAdvanced Heart Wellman Screening

Essential for men with known cardiovascular risk factors.
